Yes. alloCare is fully online and available to everyone in Germany. All you need is a stable internet connection.
Much of the process is online. Whether a consultation can be fully remote or requires a clinic visit is decided by the doctor after reviewing your information. We'll let you know before your appointment.

Yes. alloCare supports you with follow-up prescriptions, lab values, and ongoing care. Just bring your existing documentation to the consultation.
Before starting PrEP, you'll need an HIV test, kidney function tests (important for tolerability of oral PrEP), Hepatitis B serology, and STI screening for syphilis, gonorrhoea, and chlamydia. That sounds like a lot, but in practice it's a single blood draw plus a couple of swabs. For ongoing follow-up every three months: HIV test, STI screening, and kidney function monitoring.
The at-home kit covers everything you need: a blood sample for your HIV test, kidney function, and Hepatitis B, plus swabs for STI screening (gonorrhoea and chlamydia). The blood collection uses Tasso technology, which works with gentle suction rather than a needle, so there's no sting. The swabs are straightforward to do yourself, with clear instructions included. Once you're done, send the kit back in the pre-paid envelope and your results come back digitally within a few days. No appointment, no lab visit, completely discreet.
At a walk-in lab you go in without a fixed appointment and have your blood drawn and swabs taken on the spot, which takes just a few minutes. Results usually come back within one to two working days. Walk-in is a good option if you want fast turnaround or prefer being seen in person. One more thing: lab tests may be covered by public health insurance (GKV) in the future. We're working on it.
The initial consultation costs €29, a one-time fee for your first doctor appointment. Your card is saved and only authorized once your appointment is confirmed.
No, €29 is just the consultation. Here's the full picture to get started: lab test €99, prescription €19, PrEP medication (90 tablets, 3-month supply) €90. That's €237 in total. Every 3 months after that: €208 (roughly €69/month).
Yes, absolutely. Plenty of our users are GKV-insured and choose the private path for discretion, flexibility, and shorter waits. You pay yourself, but you stay in full control of your data. If you'd rather go the free GKV route, join the waitlist and we'll let you know when it's ready.
Yes, in Germany GKV members can access PrEP for free through specialist centres under certain conditions. We don't offer that route yet, but you can join the waitlist and we'll let you know when we do. In the meantime, quite a few GKV users choose to pay privately for the extra privacy and shorter waits.
